Meredith Mayo grew up in a bicultural home with a strong Mexican influence and has always had a passion for the vibrant, passionate culture that Latin America represents. Since her youth, she has known she wants to speak Spanish and work alongside the Latino population in some capacity.

Meredith received her Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama with a desire to implement change at a macro-level through policy and advocacy. Her specific passion points are forced migration and migrant farmworkers, and she believes in the power of narrative change that can aid in both personal and systems change.

Meredith has worked in event production, on campaigns, with non-profits, and in various quality assurance roles. She brings her background of strategy, marketing, and strengths-based methodology to the development team at Abara. 

Though a Texan by birth, Meredith currently lives with her husband, Scott, and their baby boy, Ethan, in Columbia, SC. In her free time, you can find her walking, biking, or cooking to the Hamilton soundtrack.
